She is also, through her work at the college and through volunteer work, deeply committed to supporting justice impacted people. She sees a strong intersection in this work and believes in the importance of supporting people struggling with substance use disorder and those on their recovery journey, and also in providing support, resources, and hope to their family and loved ones.
She has seen first hand in those she works with, as well as in her own family, ways in which substance use disorder impacts so many people. She is honored to join the Board of Directors at Thrive and looks forward to making meaningful contributions to the important work this organization is doing for families.

My name is Molly Sinclair and I am a person in long-term recovery from both substance use disorder (personally) as well as from the effects of substance use disorder in the family. In short—what that means to me is that I currently seek wellness rather than relief.
Professionally, I have worn many hats. Starting after college (21years ago!!!), I worked in the legal field as a paralegal for nearly 15 years. Beginning in 2019, I took a two-year break from formal employment to stay home with my two boys (now ages 7 and 10). I returned to the legal field after that, but quickly realized my priorities regarding my professional life had shifted. Accordingly, in 2022, I began looking for jobs that aligned with my experience, but also my values. Luckily, I came across a job posting on the MN Council of Non-Profits job board for a position at Thrive.
I was very fortunate that Pam and Sarah (Director of Operations at the time), brought me on board as an executive assistant. Over the next few years, I performed many tasks ranging from HR responsibilities, budget management, grant compliance, operations work, etc.. I had the opportunity to participate in conversations regarding re-branding as well as strategic planning. I was also honored to be able to serve as a Family Peer Recovery Specialist where I gained first-hand experience in some of the work happening at Thrive.
In March 2025, I transitioned away from Thrive and into a role at Minnesota Recovery Connection directly supporting individuals experiencing SUD as a Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist. Having lost two parents to complications arising from problematic substance use, I connect deeply with Thrive’s mission and I am eager to serve Thrive in a new capacity.
